Quality Control
As a Quality Controller at the Kiskinda Trust's Banana Fibre NGO in Anegundi, I played a crucial role in ensuring the excellence and consistency of the hand-crocheted homeware products. Collaborating closely with skilled women artisans, I meticulously inspected each item, from its intricate crochet patterns to the durability and finish of the banana fibre material.
My responsibilities included establishing quality standards, conducting regular checks during various stages of production, and providing constructive feedback to artisans to help refine their techniques.

LAPTOP BAGS
During my tenure at the Kiskinda Trust's Banana Fibre Studio in Anegundi, I took on the multifaceted role of developing woven samples and transforming them into stylish and functional laptop bags. Overseeing the entire weaving production process, I ensured that the quality and consistency of the banana fibre material met the high standards. My responsibilities extended to designing and developing the laptop bags, where I combined aesthetics with practicality to create unique products.
This involved optimizing the functionality of the bags, and collaborating with artisans to refine their weaving techniques.
My efforts not only expanded our product line but also showcased the versatility of banana fibre, ultimately contributing to the empowerment and skill development of the women artisans.

IKAI ASAI
I embarked on an exciting collaboration with the Indian brand Ikai Asai to develop banana fibre crochet table mats. This project was a journey of exploration and creativity, where I worked hand-in-hand with Ikai Asai's design team to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern design elements.
We explored various patterns and techniques to create distinctive samples that highlighted the unique properties of banana fibre. This collaboration not only expanded the creative horizons of our artisans but also demonstrated the versatility and potential of banana fibre in contemporary home decor.
NATURAL DYE EXPLORATIONS
At the Kiskinda Trust's, I led natural dye explorations with banana fibre to enhance the aesthetic appeal and eco-friendliness of the products. This involved experimenting with various natural dye sources to achieve a range of vibrant, sustainable colours. My role included researching dye techniques, conducting dye tests, and ensuring the dyed fibres maintained their quality and durability.
These explorations opened new creative possibilities for the artisans, allowing them to offer uniquely coloured, environmentally friendly hand-crocheted homeware items.
